English Writing (homework copy): Children are to write a diary entry  from the point of view of Eily about what has happened in the past few days.

Important features to be included in the children's writing:
- More than 1 copy page.
- Paragraphs.
- Full stops and Capital letters.
- Spelling (As good as possible) 
- Descriptive language.
- Describing feelings and emotions. 

What children could write about: 
* Describe the storm.
* Peggy's and Michael's emotions and what they are doing during the storm.
*How Eily felt and what she does during the storm. 
*How she feels when 'The heaven's open" - How this will help her and everything else to grow again.

Project about Japan

As some of you know we will be having an international week that will be running from the 22nd to the 26th of January. Throughout this week we will be learning all about the different countries and cultures all around the world. The country that 4th class are focusing on for this year is Japan. We will be doing some research tomorrow (9th of January) on different aspects of Japan.

The children will be doing an individual project about Japan that is due on Friday the 19th of January.

Childrens projects should:

- Presented on an A2 or A3 sheet.
- Be written.
- Include pictures either sketched or printed off.
- Include some general information about Japan (language spoken, population, climate, capital city etc.)
- Have 2/3 sections on different topics about Japan. Examples of topics could be:
Traditions, Inventions, Technology, Clothes, Famous Landmarks, Language, Clothes, Climate, Famous people, History (Samuri, Wars etc.), Anime, Manga, Food, Money, Origami.

Christmas Play: Robin Hood

Hi guys,

The play we are doing this year is Robin Hood. Please find below the roles and costumes that they could potentially wear. If you have something better at home that is perfectly fine:

Beggars: Normal clothes (Ragged clothes if you wish) with blankets/ towels to throw over their shoulders.

Narrators: Black clothes.

Soldiers: Camouflage costumes or soldier costumes.

Robin Hood and Merry men: Green and brown clothes/ costume.

Mother/ Son: Normal clothes.

Important Information: Trip Monday 27th

Just to let you know that on Monday 27th November we will be doing our field trip 
(part of SESE / Geography) to the North Bull Island to learn about the Brent Geese. While we are there, we will :

 -  go to the interpretative center for a talk/AV with Niamh from Brent Geese project

- going out to look for the Geese with Ricky from Bird Watch Ireland

- be looking at some of the other inhabitants of the Island with Paul From Bull Island Centre.


Can you ensure that children are wearing suitable clothing for this trip.  It could be cold so please wrap up warm. I would advise to wear wellies and waterproofs if possible. Layer up! Wear warm clothes, hats, gloves, and waterproofs / Rain coat.
